Senior Certification Engineer

Salary: $85, 000 - $105, 000 /year

This position will be responsible for the certification of systems in the US and Foreign countries.
  • Senior Certification Engineer will focus on maintaining TSO, STC and TC Modification certification activities for the product line.
  • Obtaining TSOA, STC, and TC Modification approvals through US FAA, and foreign certification authorities.
  • Participate in industry events, symposiums, FAA training classes, SAE committees as assigned by Management.
  • Be able to effectively communicate with certification authorities, management, engineering, program management, and sales/marketing personnel to provide certification regulatory guidance based on a working knowledge of the US, EASA, and foreign authority regulatory requirements .
  • Develop an understanding of the aviation certification requirements for company products (FAA TSO, STC, TC, etc…)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our key customers.
  • Have a working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 23 and 25 with the associated FAA Advisory material.
  • Coordinate with engineers during product development and improvement, and conduct developmental engineering test
  • Have a working knowledge of FAA TSOA, CFR, STC, TC, EASA CRI, FAA Special Conditions and TC Modification processes within the organization, and the FAA and EASA framework.
  • Provide guidance within the company certification group with regard to certification documentation, procedures, and data submittals when needed.
  • Performs special project assigned tasks as directed by the Certification Manager.
  • Oversees and ensures Certification documentation data submittal for accuracy and completeness.
  • Personally interface with US FAA and foreign Certification Authorities as requested for certification issue resolution and status updates.
  • Develop certification test plans and reports

  • Bachelors Degree desired, but not required
  • Must have a minimum of five years of previous experience in aircraft system certification (Type Certification Modifications, Supplemental Type Certification programs, FAA/JAA/EASA approval process).
  • Must have a minimum of five years direct working relationship with US and/or foreign certification authorities or their designees.
  • Should have experience in the aerospace industry, especially in the areas of aircraft components and aircraft system integration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
