EHS Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
  • Initiate, execute and promote employee safety initiatives at manufacturing facilities within a multi-state area.
  • Support and coordinate with supervisors and managers the successful implementation of safety initiatives driven by the organization.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor employee training programs.
  • Oversee facilities safety and loss control programs to control or eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses in the workplace and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Responsible for managing safety and security processes.
  • Continually coach supervisors and managers on issues related to safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide safety related guidance to supervisors and managers.
  • Administer safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect facilities to determine existing or potential hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures where applicable and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Responsible for all regulatory compliance and OSHA/EPA reporting and related record keeping.
  • Handle and process any work related injuries/ accidents.
  • Assist in overseeing the claims and medical management programs.
  • Conduct incident investigations.
  • Participate in organizations and associations related to EHS.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned to support the department and company

  • Positive driving and safety compliance history.

  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • 5 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations a plus
  • Food Manufacturing experience a plus
