Activates and adjusts machine controls to regulate stitching speed and length

Select sewing supplies like fasteners and threads in accordance with job requirements

Replace needles

Fold and fits together materials to prepare for sewing

Sew component parts together per production specifications

Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions

Position items under needles using marks on machines, clamps, templates or cloth as guides

Place spools of thread, cord or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins and thread ends through machine guides and components

Match component parts in correct sequences prior to sewing them

Guide parts under machine needs and presser feet to sew parts together

Inspect parts and finished product for defects or damage and mark errors or points of concern as necessary

Cut excess material or thread from finished products

Perform specialized or automatic sewing machine functions as specified by production documents for each product

Ability to calculate stitches per inch

Identify defective stitches for loose stitches, skipped stitches, and bad stitches as a result of incorrect machine tension.

Programmable machine pattern and clamp changeover skills is a plus

Ability to sew a quality stitch within specification for various materials including nylon and polyester webbing, Airbag denier material, leather, and in many cases multiple layers of each material.

Hours are 6 AM – 2: 30 PM, plus overtime, including Saturdays, as needed.

 

If/when an associate is brought on to our payroll, the starting rate of pay would be $10.78, it would increase to $11.45 at six months of employment, and $11.89 at one year.

Job Summary: A first level Production person under the direction of the Production supervisor hired and trained to manufacture finished goods per AMSAFE blue prints and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• The position will be required to report directly to the designated Production Supervisor.

• Will be required to reach and maintain Production and Quality standards set for them with continuous training.

• Required the ability to read and write, add and subtract whole numbers and carry out verbal and written instructions.

• Demands continuous light physical effort and manual dexterity working with lightweight to medium weight materials.

• Requires knowledge and use of statistical control charts and the tools to complete the task.
  • Must clock in no earlier than ten (10) minutes before the start of their shift.
  • Required to follow all company polices.

· Required to follow all manufacturing procedures.

· Required to perform other duties upon request.

Training Requirements:

• With training, must be able to read and understand all specifications on AMSAFE blue prints.
  • Must be able to understand and use simple measuring devices such and go/no-go gauges and measuring tapes.
