Shipping and Receiving Manager

Job Summary:

Manages all aspects of Shipping/Receiving, Inventory Control, and administrative activities in the Shipping Department on a daily basis either directly or through subordinates to achieve the company' s goals. Ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures to meet Customer and Regulatory requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and evaluates resources necessary for accuracy
  • Maximizes inventory related activities through proficient use of resources.
  • Insures that products are shipped with adequate lead time necessary to meet customer required delivery dates.
  • Insures that orders are packaged and shipped correctly, to the correct address, and are billed to the order specifications.
  • Insures all employees are trained on the current Shipping/Receiving and Inventory/Control processes.
  • Insures all inventory counts are performed as procedure and our Computerized Inventory reflects the physical counts.
  • Insures all products are stored in correct location, these locations are clearly labeled, and are stored in a safe, organized manner.
  • Insures a strict FIFO policy is followed on a daily basis with all product lines including resins, parts, and completed products.
  • Promotes teamwork and maintains an open communication between all departments and management.
  • Insures that all employees within his/her department are trained on the current policies and procedures as documented in the Red Book and/or Departmental Procedure Book. Assist Training Coordinator to schedule any needed training.
  • Assist in maintaining personnel records, and performing performance reviews.
  • Maintains relations with Shipping Vendors while consistently working to identify and reduce shipping cost.
  • Work with QA department to achieve a smooth transaction while receiving necessary Shipping Doc’ s for orders.
  • Ensure a clear documented path and locations on all incoming RGM’ s
  • Ensure production orders are pulled and picked accurately then delivered to the respective manufacturing department in a timely manner.
  • Review timecards weekly and address attendance issues.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of shipping regulations.

 

Required:
  • Associate’ s degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training in Management
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training in Shipping and Receiving
